SUMMARY We are currently working with a privately held manufacturer with over 120 years in business to identify an experienced Human Resources Manager. Located north of Pittsburgh, this manufacturer is approximately 250 employees strong across 6 locations, and has a family feel culture where employees are appreciated and engaged.
Reporting to the President, the Human Resources Manager will have a staff of two individuals and in summary, be responsible for providing leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy, processes and procedures in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, legal compliance, performance management, training & development, and compensation & benefits.
The successful incumbent of this position will: • Possess a natural inclination to be very relational with all employees, yet have the confidence to hold their ground when addressing conflict and making tough decisions • Have a desire to impact the bigger picture and put structure into place • Be strong at providing support to executives and managers, as well as reigning them in when necessary • Be effective in taking the family feel culture of a 120+ year old company and as the company pursues growth, build upon it to help transition to new ways of thinking, identify ways to bring in the right talent and develop key people, and develop more formal training as those needs arise. • Be a constant learner, both professionally and personally.
REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business preferred but not required. • PHR/SPHR certification preferred. • Minimum of 7 years of experience as an HR professional required. • Manufacturing experience highly preferred. • Ability to plan, develop, and strategically implement HR related programs and initiatives. • Strong ability to build relationships with all levels of team members and increase engagement. • Proven talent management, including the ability to attract and retain outstanding talent, and leadership management with an ability to assemble and motivate a high performance team. • Ability to travel 10 – 25% of the year. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
