The calibration tech is the last line of customization for all new product builds and the first line for products that require servicing which are already in use. We adhere to the ISO 17025 testing & calibration quality control and this role is 50% hands-on, 50% computer work.
The standards equipment written about on the description are specific tools that have undergone heavy proficiency testing. Things like multimeters, pressure gauges, volume syringes. The hands-on portion of the role is ability to take apart a computer system to test boards, wiring, lcd, and software.
The computer skills really revolve around the MS Office Suite and Excel, in particular. Within Excel the key skill is writing macros which has become invaluable to this position using MS Excel Workbook
In addition to final calibration of new product builds the other part of this job is troubleshooting and repairing systems already in the field. Typically these are communications errors between software and firmware that can be handled on a WebEx but in-house servicing is also important.
Responsible for proper handling and maintenance of customer equipment, including Calibration and Service testing and standards equipment.
Work from written instructions using a variety hand tools, adhesives, and simple test equipment to service, test, package, and ship high quality products
Insure all product, materials, parts, and documentation are in compliance with company specifications and ISO quality standards
Contribute to the development of work instructions and standard operating procedures
Assist Engineering and Production in the development of new products and/or the improvement of the serviceability of existing products.
Troubleshoot malfunctioning products and components when necessary
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Associates Degree in technical discipline
Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of relevant experience in precision or electronics technologies
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with and emphasis in Excel (proficiency writing macros, using pivot tables, sorting, and other functions)
Ability to read basic shop drawings and work instructions
Proficient in the use of hand tools
Wiring and soldering skills
Strong knowledge of testing procedures and documentation
