Job Summary: This software engineering position will participate in implementation, support and administration of mission critical, enterprise applications. This position will be working with small teams in a fast paced environment.
Significant Responsibilities & Accountabilities: • Create and design deployment strategies for multiple web applications using cutting-edge technologies • Install, configure and maintain ISS (development, test) servers (apache, tomcat, other) • Remotely deploy software releases and patches to customer servers (cloud and on premise configurations) • Troubleshoot deployments and infrastructure/configuration issues with customers as Tier II support • Prepare installation and troubleshooting information for end-users • Work closely with internal ISS team on a daily basis supporting the agile software development process • Participate in architectural design discussions to understand deployment needs and changes
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or Associates degree in Computer Science or related field Experience: 2-5 years of experience in the following areas: • Deploying to Application and Web servers (tomcat/httpd) • Deploying to a Linux environment; RedHat preferred • Installing and upgrading Databases (postgres/mysql/sql server) • Writing SQL and Linux commands • Setting up and maintaining Virtualization Technologies (Xen, HyperV, VMware, Virtual Box, Docker) • Single Sign On Solutions (IBM Security Access Manger, OpenAM) • Deploying and maintaining enterprise storage solutions • Helpdesk processes including knowledge base maintenance • Managing changes in production environments
Familiarity with the following tools: • Cloudera Enterprise Manager/Hadoop ecosystem suite of tools • Shell scripting • Microsoft PowerShell • Version control /SVN preferred • Exploration tool fisheye • Build and deployment tools hudson/cobbler • ETL tools (talend scripting a plus) • Third -party reporting tools (Birt, crystal, business objects) • Ticketing Systems (Spiceworks ticket management a plus)
