The West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for an Oral Data Collector. This position will provide oral data collection and other related activities at various sites in West Virginia. Performs various duties under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) and Program Manager such as setting up and conducting interviews, data collection, and assisting with collection of oral health data.
Provides program, as well as direct internal and external client support services. Responds to inquiries and resolves matters of relatively low complexity. Responsibilities require some basic decision making and resourcefulness within available guides and precedents. Work effort impacts client services, program and project image, with nominal liabilities.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide oral data collection and other related activities. This will include quantification of plaque, saliva, calculus, and gingival determinations; periodontal probing and attachment levels; detecting decayed, missing and filled surfaces; sealants and erosion determinations; malocclusions and trauma evaluations; and bacterial determinations.
Assist with recruiting participants by various methodologies including assisting in project presentations at various locations throughout WV (day travel will be required), and/or working at a project participant-recruiting table at times.
Travel to various sites for data collection including, but not limited to, medical offices, dental offices, conference rooms, participants’ homes, etc.
Record oral health information and enters data into applicable computer database.
Adhere to WVUH guidelines, OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements as determined by such institutions.
Dental Hygienist certificate/diploma
Experience assisting with oral exams and qualifications is preferred
Experience in oral data collection and recording is preferred
