RDX has 20 years of experience providing remote support services to over 400 customers worldwide. We are also the single largest provider of remote databases and OS services, currently employing over 200 expert professionals.
This position is onsite at our Warrendale, PA corporate headquarters. This is not a remote opportunity.
Overview: This position requires a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who enjoys customer contact and has the drive necessary to successfully triage server performance issues in a fast-paced support environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day monitoring of Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL servers and respond to monitoring alerts accordingly. A good sense of timeliness and urgency is required, as well as excellent communication skills. This position requires continuous learning and offers a lot of room for both personal and professional growth.
Essential Duties: •Provide detailed monitoring of jobs and logs for Oracle, My SQL, and SQL Server and Servers. •Provide detailed monitoring of jobs and logs for Oracle, My SQL, and SQL Server and Servers. •Respond to issues within time determined by SLA, handle entry level database tasks for Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server. •Database and Operating System troubleshooting and problem resolution to environments including, but not limited to, SQL, Oracle, DB2, Windows and UNIX/LINUX. •Maintain documentation in Word and Excel as well as Service Now workload management system. •Develop scripts in Shell and VBS related to monitors and automation of checks. •Shift work and schedule flexibility are required. •Responsible for maintaining the Big Brother monitoring tool. •Responsible for driving customer satisfaction by continuing to deliver support excellence with your willingness to listen, understand, and anticipate our customers’ needs. •Assume accountability for service reliability. •Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: *The DOC operates 24/7/365, schedule flexibility is required* •Experience with MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle is preferred. •The ability to respond to pages within time determined by SLA, handle entry level database tasks for Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server, escalate all other pages to appropriate person (training provided for database tasks). •An attention to detail, but also the ability to see the bigger picture. •Candidate must be able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment and operate with a sense of urgency. •It is highly desired that the candidate be interested in learning and working with database management systems such as Oracle, My SQL, and SQL Server. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Effectively work in a team environment with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. •Skilled in problem analysis and resolution techniques. •Capable of effective time management and tracking of such time. •Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) best practices. •College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work related experience. •0-2 years of hands-on experience in the IT field.-We provide training.
