As a Project Scheduler, you will be responsible for the successful design, development, and maintenance of a detailed project schedule and resource allocation for new customer software engineering projects as well as on-going customer software enhancements. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will coordinate project baselines, work breakdown structures, and linked plans so that current projects and enhancements as well as future scenarios can be modeled and monitored in the most efficient manner possible.
Establish a master schedule; meet regularly with project team members to review master schedule and incorporate new information.
Develop version control processes, policies, and procedures relating to the master schedule.
Proactively identify overall schedule performance issues/risks or opportunities and advise management of same.
Provide progress reporting documents and communication materials as required.
Assist Director of Engineering by analyzing historical data of project execution to identify patterns and suggest areas for improvement.
Assist the COO with project and enhancement schedule information to prepare for and report on at the bi-weekly project review meetings.
Expert level of proficiency utilizing project scheduling and reporting software, preferably Microsoft Project, and proficient use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree preferred; two-year technical degree augmented with courses and/or seminars in engineering change control, change requests, contract administration, and project management will be considered.
5+ years of experience as a planner/scheduler, preferably on software engineering projects.
Demonstrated expertise in PMI Project Management principles and methodologies.
Must be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.
Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment is also a must.
Excellent display of verbal and written communication, assertiveness, and interpersonal skills as well as ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high growth environment while balancing multiple project tasks, changing requirements and priorities, and short deadlines.
Experience handling proprietary information.
