The Applications Administrator’s primary role is to provide administrative and technical support for in-house developed and third-party applications. The main system is the Allscripts (Electronic Health Record) system. Other key roles include maintenance and operation of critical business applications and the ability to analyze, diagnose, find root cause of an issue and solve it or escalate the issue to another team or individual. Additionally, the Applications Administrator should proactively identify issues before they occur which assists in the overall maintenance of the applications. This role will work directly with all levels of employees including having direct contact with clients.
1.) 3-5 years DBA experience, providing database administration (SQL) and application support; including the overall monitoring, maintenance and support of multiple applications, interfaces and systems.
2.) 3 years’ experience facilitating the coordination and escalation of issues to support teams and third-party vendors, to troubleshoot, diagnose and facilitate issue resolution with all parties involved, strong project management skills
3.) Experience supporting Allscripts or other EHR system
Experience working with SQL, database administration, scripting, running queries, troubleshooting, writing and distributing reports
Access knowledge and experience
Understanding of revenue cycle management and electronic health records
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related work experience
Knowledge of working with multiple applications, project management, electronic health records, and revenue cycle
Knowledge of change management practices
Strong organizational and communication skills
Provide administrative and technical support for assigned applications via a ticketing system.
Meet and exceed established service levels for support.
Maintain operation, monitoring, and integrity of production, test, and development systems to meet established standards.
Implement, maintain and support 7 or more interfaces with Allscripts.
Coordinate and escalate issues to support teams and third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Work closely with IT and operations teams for new application installations, releases, and testing.
Perform regularly scheduled system updates, changes and failover tests for assigned applications, normally outside of standard business hours.
Identify business needs and provide appropriate technical solutions.
Create and maintain support documentation for applications.
Communicate general events and incidents to employees and management.
Act as a subject matter expert for business application systems, and interface between end-users, technical support, operations, and management.
