Rail Control Solutions (RCS) is Bombardier Transportation’s signaling division. RCS is focused on optimizing the flow of trains and delivering innovative signaling systems which enable the safe and efficient operation of rail networks and trains
Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a Software Test Engineer you will perform safety-critical, software verification for vehicle control systems such as Automatic Train Protection (ATP). In your role you will:
Analyze and review product design documentation and requirements to select and develop software test tools and methodologies;
Create test plans, design test cases, direct test activities, and present test results throughout the software development life-cycle;
Test C code in embedded environments and evaluate safety-critical design and coding to verify quality and safety standards;
Perform static testing or branch coverage testing utilizing unit test tool and also perform dynamic testing in simulator based environments;
Provide technical expertise in support of program management, field implementation, safety engineering, and product development.
You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline; a Master’s Degree will be considered an asset;
You possess at 0-3 years of experience in a software testing role;
You must demonstrate software testing or coding experience in the language of C;
You possess an understanding of embedded systems development, real time operating systems, and software processes;
You demonstrate the ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
You possess strong organizational and prioritization skills;
You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
You possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
You demonstrate strong written and verbal English communication skills.
