The West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for a Behavior Therapist. This position provides one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy to young children, adolescents, and young adults with autism at the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities (WVU CED).
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide one-on-one direct client therapy using principals of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Follow Behavioral Skills Acquisition and Behavior Reduction Protocols developed by certified staff.
Collect, record, and graph data on observable client behavior data.
Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding child’s daily performance.
Implement daily skills protocols as needed.
Create therapeutic materials for clients and parents.
Create and disseminate educational materials and workshops for parents of children with autism.
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field
One (1) year of related work experience
One (1) year of experience providing one-on-one behavioral services to individuals with autism
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
