Bachelor degree in Communications, Business, English, Marketing, or related discipline required; MBA preferred
Minimum 3 years of progressive business experience; or 1 year of relevant Federated experience required
Familiarity with proposals, marketing and sales related business needs required; understanding of Investment Management business development, RFPs and contracts preferred
Experience coordinating and managing complex projects required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with strong proficiency in Excel required; understanding of content management systems preferred
Understanding of Federated products and services preferred
Perform aspects related to proposal preparation, manage proposal development, process review, and lead RFPs/RFIs/DDQs.
Develop responses, special exhibits, and charts, to respond to proposals as necessary for review by investment management or product management
Build and maintain effective working relationships with Subject Matter Contacts (SMCs), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and key personnel.
Understand and prepare responses in line with Federated’s established Compliance protocol, understand applicable regulatory guidelines that affect proposal preparation and submission (i.e., SEC, FINRA, etc.)
Build knowledge of various product lines and other company-wide information over time as a means to enhance proposal team productivity and proposal sophistication.
Serve as back-up for all legal, contractual and administrative components of a proposal project and collaborate with project leads to fulfill proposal requests.
Develop, share and attend to project schedules with Compliance, Legal, HR, Insurance, IMA and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Subject Matter Contacts (SMCs) throughout the firm to ensure project goals are met in accordance with pre-determined timeframes.
Serve as back-up for the team’s SharePoint site used for tracking each proposal project. Assist with the preparation of advanced excel queries to prepare reports for senior management and others based on metrics that show trends related to: RFP/RFI/DDQ volume, win/loss ratios and sales channel trends/product trends, etc.
Review incoming RFP/RFI/DDQs for requirements and assist in defining completion approach, meeting with manager to discuss. Provide ongoing feedback on process improvements.
Conduct After-Action Reviews of projects from a reporting standpoint of the Legal/Compliance etc. perspective to improve upon next efforts. Share findings with SMEs and SMCs as well as sales and department management.
