Job Description: Neuro Kinetics Inc. is seeking an energetic and bright Machinist Production Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be emotionally mature, and an excellent craftsperson, mechanical assembler and technical problem solver.
Hours are daytime shift with flexibility on start and end times and some variable hours associated with travel. NKI is located in RIDC North.
This position will be responsible for:
Assembly of outsourced components, including inspecting (“incoming inspection”), quality checking, putting together, and sometimes modifying metal and motor parts;
Occasional design and creation of custom parts such as brackets;
In person support for system installation, preventative maintenance and recalibrations at client sites. Associated travel includes both domestic and international locations up to 30% of the time as part of a two person team for 5-7 day installations;
Evaluating incoming mechanical, electromechanical and motor components for quality;
Supporting document control by ensuring production designs are accurate (a plus if able to use CAD), including reading drawings, conceiving corrective or innovative modifications, and either communicating the modifications or making the modifications using CAD;
Supporting regular audits of manufacturing procedures for mechanical subsystems, components and complete systems;
Performing mechanical and component evaluation and testing including calibration and appropriate quality control testing;
Interfacing with, and supporting engineering, design, purchasing, accounting and any other members of the NKI team to ensure ongoing process and quality improvements, and timely shipments;
Maintaining timely and accurate records relating to production, inventory, specifications, and drawing quality and control;
Supporting regular cycle and hard counts for inventory;
Staying current on relevant technologies;
Professionally representing by knowledgably discussing NKI’s technology and products and by providing thoughtful and measured interactions with customers in person and over the phone;
Actively using and sharing knowledge and experience to the benefit of fellow employees and customers;
Proactively communicating with the responsible teammate(s) important cost concerns, or possible changes in production or delivery schedules;
Maintaining a neat and organized work space and inventory system for components;
Perpetuating a positive, professional, “team first,” “can do” attitude to get a job done both right and on time; and
Generating and freely offering ideas for innovating product, components and procedures, particularly focused on enhancing production efficiencies and product reliability.
