We are creating the Financial Planning Manager to manage, analyze, and execute all financial elements of the business. This ranges from setting budgets, tracking expenses, creating inventory buy plans, assessing business performance (at multiple levels), and reporting results on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to the management team and Board of Directors. The core focus is two-fold. First, to support the CEO in building, tracking, and reporting out on the overall performance of the business – including building a P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement. Second, working with the merchandising/product team to build out inventory, sales, and markdown plans to support overall growth of the business. Ultimately, this role will be critical to managing and reporting on the financial health of the Trusst business.
Set and manage corporate and functional budgets
Track detailed expenses at all levels
Build monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
Set detailed weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales plans by channel
Build inventory buy and markdown plans to support the sales plan
Complete standard and ad hoc analysis and reports on the health of the business
Support the CEO in preparing materials for all fundraising and Board of Directors presentations
Experience and Characteristics
2-3 years of successful experience in financial or inventory planning role within the retail industry
Insight and knowledge of financial analysis tools and basic accounting standards
Self-starter who has a bias for action and is driven to succeed
Organized and efficient communicator
Moves easily between leader and team member depending on situational needs
Drives decision making thru influence and action
Understands and lives by the concept of Done. Done. Done.
Must be comfortable in a fast-moving, flexible, “startup” environment.
Motivated to change the way things are done and have an impact
Must have a high competency in Excel and related analytic tools
