We are currently looking for a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, or an Electrical Engineer, for a permanent position within our client base. This position is permanent and is based in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a very important and high visibility position.
Our client is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Electrical and Automation Engineer. Typical projects include all aspects relating to industrial furnaces to steel, aluminum and strip processing manufacturers. Typical project scope includes combusiton/controls upgrades, furnace rebuilds, field service, and complete equipment design/supply/install/commissioning.
Electrical & Automation Engineer - Metals
Execute Electrical & Automation controls projects, including design and component selection, programming, installation, commissioning and customer training.
Execute the development of single line, three line drawings, network diagrams, and I/O schematics.
Test and perform checks of installed equipment.
Train customer’s operating and maintenance personnel
Field checkout and commissioning of machinery at locations throughout the World. Travel is approximately 20-30%.
Compile quotes and estimates for drive and controls projects.
Update project documentation to reflect revisions and upgrades.
Possess an understanding of industrial combustion systems which includes design of electrical and automation systems per applicable code.
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering preferred. Experienced Automation and Combustion Technologists will be considered.
Minimum three years’ experience with Rockwell ControLogix PLC and HMI systems for automated machine control. Experience with Siemens S7 PLC and VFD equipment.
Must have field checkout and startup experience in an industrial environment, preferably with combustion and material handling equipment.
Skilled in the use of the following software: RSLogix, Panelview, RSView, Wonderware, Siemens Step 7, WinCC.
Familiar with electronic interface systems such as Ethernet, DeviceNet, and Profibus between PLC systems, VFD and MCC equipment, and HMI computers.
Working knowledge in the use of the following software: AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
A self-starter capable of working independently as well as within a multi-disciplined project team environment.
Must have good skills in maintaining vendor and customer relationships.
