In summary, the District Manager will oversee anywhere from 7 to 10 accounts located within Western PA and OH and be directly responsible for managing the Directors of across the areas of: Housekeeping, Laundry, Linens, Facilities and Plant Operations / Maintenance, Grounds, and Patient Transportation.
This position typically requires four days a week traveling to customer accounts with one home office day per week. The expectation of the District Manager is to visit each account at least once per month and spend quality time at each account.
Ideally the incumbent of this role will be located within the Pittsburgh or surrounding areas. However, candidates located in / near Central PA, or within OH regions are also viable considerations given the locations of customer accounts. Candidates open to relocation to these locations will be considered.
POSITION Responsibilities include: • Recruit and hire to create high performers and provide continual management development and mentoring to all managers and staff, including disciplinary action when necessary. • Oversee training, quality improvement, infection control, safety, customer and patient satisfaction, and financial controls across multiple facilities. • Function in a support capacity for all managers as the direct liaison between the company and administration. • Regulatory compliance for local, state, federal, Joint Commission, CMS codes / standards as they relate to the scope of work or as assigned by hospital administration. • Assist with new account surveys, develop financials and assist in presentations. • Plan / Coordinate activities for new account openings within district. • Apply performance improvement plans, which statistically monitor / evaluate stats important to the department, and implement changes to enhance progress towards established goals. • Establish sound goals / objectives and develop plans of action with priorities. • Participate in facility strategic planning. • Meet with administrators, department heads, key contacts, and vendors to achieve coordination, resolve concerns, and plan future goals and objectives. • Regularly make rounds to inspect work performed and identify areas for repair or in need of improvement, with the goal of never walking by a standard that’s being missed. • Conduct monthly and quarterly reviews with each client.
REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor degree preferred but not required. • Industry specific certifications highly desired. • Must have a background in managing both EVS and Facilities / Maintenance areas. • 10+ years’ of multi-site senior level management experience, preferably within the hospital industry. • Must be well versed in housekeeping chemicals, equipment use, patient room / specialty services cleaning, regulations associated with hazardous waste. • Knowledge of DOH Life Safety, CMMS regulations, IBC, AGA guidelines, TJC, AOA, ADA, federal / state / local guidelines regarding construction, sanitation, and safety procedures experience in a healthcare environment. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
