Skyword is seeking an innovative, passionate, and experienced Product Manager to take a leadership role on our Technology team in our downtown Pittsburgh office. Our ideal candidate is an effective problem solver with a passion for managing web-based products. This person will be responsible for identifying and defining products that help our customers and contributors use Skyword’s Content Marketing platform. This is a high visibility opportunity on a software platform that is driving meaningful revenue.

Know our product, customers, and contributors and understand the challenges that exist
Act as a product owner in an Agile environment: create user stories and user acceptance criteria, and prioritize product backlogs
Design customer-focused solutions that have strong value propositions, meet demonstrated market needs, and provide unique competitive advantage
Manage the lifecycle of products from requirements to product release
Drive product vision and be responsible for its success across initial concept, scope, specification, prioritization, design, and implementation
Identify necessary metrics to measure the progress and effectiveness of projects
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize, and proactively communicate issues and decisions
Identify opportunities for innovative products and features that leverage the unique capabilities of other social and marketing platforms
Interact closely with marketing, sales, development, quality assurance, and customer service teams to deliver a market-leading product
Work closely with the engineering team to ensure feasibility, proper scope, and time-to-market tradeoffs
Collect and analyze user behavior and understand our customers needs through research, interviews, testing, collaboration, and brainstorming
Be an advocate for our users and influence the product team and the overall organization to achieve solutions that are right for users
Research competitive sites and stay up to date with the latest marketing and social platform trends
Customer-focused: has a track record of creating successful products by determining customer needs and challenges and translating those to products
Strategic thinker: detail and results-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic
Team player: excel in a team-oriented environment and develop strong working relationships across the organization
Understanding of modern web/SaaS technologies and systems. You can have conversations with technology team members about technical design tradeoffs
Ability to recognize the most important issues, prioritize your time, and deliver results consistently
Exceptional written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to present product and design ideas to senior management as well as customers
Ability to provide simple solutions to complex product issues with solid decision-making skills
Ability to travel periodically
Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies
Familiarity with content management systems, APIs, and social networking platforms
An understanding of the content marketing space and search engine optimization (SEO)
Experience using JIRA and prototyping tools
