Overview: Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is seeking a Data Center Technical Account Manager (TAM) to join our Information Technology Systems and Services (ITSS) Division. ITSS is a leading provider of data center solutions and services such as co-location, disaster recovery, service desk, remote-hands, and hybrid cloud infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and analytics-as-a-service.
As a TAM you will manage and maintain the technical relationship with named client accounts to ensure a high level of satisfaction, positioning the relationship for new opportunities and further growth. TAMs are responsible for translating data center business requirements into specific MSA products and services that give the best possible benefit to MSA and our clients. TAMs may serve as a primary client contact, or partner with Account Managers and Business Development Managers across the entire sales lifecycle from pre-sales and proposals to post-sales support and renewals.
Forms and maintains business relationships with assigned client accounts, including frequent and direct contact with mid-level to senior-level contacts, to understand their data center business objectives and goals.
Assesses assigned clients’ current and potential needs, determining appropriate MSA data center products and solutions.
Delivers professional and technical account management services through proactive communication, technical project management, services reviews, incident management, escalation management, and strategic consultation.
Partners with key technical decision makers to understand service level expectations and identify new sales opportunities.
Serves as the primary technical contact for client needs and day-to-day bug/issues reported
Provides solution overview, architecture, and design along with developing the appropriate technical documentation
Uses in-depth understanding of client and of MSA core competencies to expand presence in client operations and increase MSA revenue and profitability
Assists with solution pricing, quotes, schedules, and statements of work
Assists in business development activities outside of immediate client responsibilities. This may involve: responding to RFPs, creating & making presentations, providing research for ROI & other business justification scenarios, providing product overviews, and providing detailed demonstrations and training
Works with other ITSS division staff to ensure that client needs are being addressed in a timely manner
Requires four-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Minimum five years of technical account management, technical sales or client service work.
Successful, sustained experience as a team leader and project manager.
Established record of client satisfaction with deliverables and successful, sustained experience with forming relationships with technical client contacts
Seasoned understanding and use of data center products and services such as networking, internetworking, backup, enterprise storage, disaster recovery, system administration, hosting, colocation and cloud services
Superior oral and written communications skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule and OT if necessary
