A Senior Software Quality Engineer at Confluence is responsible for participating in QA engineering teams and contributing ideas to an evolving testing strategy. This person will be involved with the entire product lifecycle – requirements, design, review and coding, stabilization, beta, release, and service packs. The person in this position will work directly with Project Management, Development, Product Design, and Support. A comprehensive understanding and background in software development and testing methodologies are required.
What Will you Do at Confluence?
Develop and execute test plans and work with other staff members to implement the plan.
Participate as a mentor for other quality engineers by guiding them to make positive decisions.
Implement automated and manual test cases with a focus on validating complex calculations, scenarios (real world production use), performance, scalability, migration, memory, and regression testing.
Participate in the development of QA strategies, schedules, and resource plans in conjunction with Development and Project Management to ensure code coverage, product quality, and scheduling accuracy.
Identify and apply state-of-the-art software quality testing strategies for the web and Windows based applications.
Defect impact analysis and remediation.
Review user documentation.
What Skills are We Looking For in a Candidate?
Bachelor degree in Computer Science and/or related discipline.
Six or more years experience in software quality engineering.
MSSQL and Oracle DBMS experience.
Proven track record in developing and executing performance and scalability test plans.
Proven track record in building and maintaining stress and performance test infrastructure.
Ability to write readable and well-documented code.
Familiarity with automated regression testing frameworks.
Exceptional communication, presentation, organizational and teamwork skills with strong desire and ability to deliver results.
Ability to quantify the fundamental risks and problems associated with implementing software development support processes and to assess, support, and implement process and technology changes.
Possess the ability to define and apply test methodologies/metrics to ensure that the quality guidelines for the product have been met.
Excellent analytic, technical, and diagnostic skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
Knowledge of Mutual Funds, Insurance or Financial Services is desirable.
Escalate appropriate issues to the next level, strong knowledge on project, take ownership and accountability, nurture team, working with and starting new teams.
Strong understanding of the business model, how it applies to current position, what needs to be done to provide the greatest value, and how to leverage strengths at this level, with the ability to build competencies and focus on the right things.
