We are seeking a dynamic, driven, forward-thinking individual to join our product management team located at our Global headquarters in Jefferson Hills, PA. KJLC is a growing global manufacturer and distributor of vacuum technology.
The Technical Product Specialist will apply leadership and management skills to their products through Global Collaboration with various departments and suppliers. They will gain knowledge on the products and the product markets, and provide training and technical support to Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Service departments.
Key Job Elements:
Must possess the ability to learn various technical aspects of a product line including but not limited to the principles of operation, technical specifications, and the product’s strengths/weaknesses relative to the competitor products.
An understanding of the applications in which electrical products and/or vacuum science products are used. This technical expertise and application knowledge is essential.
Must be able to understand technical information regarding form, fit and function of a technical product. Ability to cross reference technical drawings and specifications to insure conformity to required specifications.
Ability to utilize and create new tools to improve the current work flow for production, sales, quoting, etc…
Must be able to answer technical questions in a comprehensive and effective manner, as well as disseminate sales related application information to the KJLC sales force and agents. Will be required to aid in selling products, either directly or indirectly.
Must be able to work with suppliers and/or KJLC Engineers to further develop application specific products, as well as seek out new application specific sales opportunities.
Ability to construct working knowledge of the market for his/her products, including sales strategies, strengths and weaknesses, features and benefits, understanding of competitors, etc.
Responsible for understanding the KJLC manufacturing process and supplier capabilities; will prepare cost estimates for non-standard items and standard “Price On Request” items, including providing any relevant sales information to customers and or Sales team.
Partly responsible for assisting in the training the sales force on technical aspects of the product range as well as their specific applications.
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Minimum of Bachelors degree in a Science or Technology related field
Strong technical & mechanical aptitude & knowledge, including ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering
Computer savvy in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint
Fluent in the English language with good communication skills
Understanding of Vacuum Science Market, Products, and Practices
