Carnegie Science Center (CSC) is hiring a Program Development Manager to coordinate research, develop, and implement CSC’s science and education programs and materials as they relate to the Carnegie STEM Girls (CSG) initiative. Duties include responsibility for creating new content, programs, and materials as well as reviewing and refining existing programs and educational materials for in-person and online experiences. The CSG Program Development Manager is responsible for working through a team approach with the STEM Programs team, other CSC programs staff, and external partners, to develop these innovative and popular programs and materials that advance the vision and mission of CSC and the CSG. The Program Development Manager is also responsible for the development and implementation of training for all education staff in the content and presentation methods required to deliver these science programs, and supervision of those staff. This position also is responsible for the development and delivery of presentations to external audiences about issues related to girls and women in STEM.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in education, communications or science. Two to five years of experience in educational communications, science centers, informal science programs, or classroom education. Two to five years of experience managing staff or volunteers required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong written and oral communication, organizational and supervisory skills required. Word processing and spreadsheet experience required. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is primarily sedentary in nature. Ability to lift 40 lbs. is required, however.
