SUMMARY: We are working with a US manufacturer of specialty products for the transportation industry to identify a Sales Executive. Known for its technology and innovation, this company has emerged as the US leader of custom transit products for busy cities. Located 90 minutes northeast of Pittsburgh, our confidential client is a privately held, 100-year strong operation that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
POSITION: As a Sales Executive in this environment, you will be working with a customized technical product line requiring complex proposals, and with projects that have a long life cycle for completion. Individuals who tend to be successful here are technically oriented and curious, ambitious, self-motivated, highly organized to follow projects through from beginning to completion, have the ability to communicate with different types and levels of individuals, and tend to be appropriately persistent in nature.
A summary of duties will include: • Devising and implementing sales strategies, goals, and forecasts. • Identifying business opportunities through industry analysis and relationship building. • Maintaining effective budgetary control of sales expenses. • Coordinating meetings with potential and existing customers and investigating incoming sales leads. • Participating in the development of new products and modification of existing products. • Assisting in the preparation of budgetary and formal quotations and proposals. • Researching industry trends and potential projects. • Participating in trade shows. • Monitoring competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, etc. • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. • Reporting to management by submitting activity reports.
REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field highly preferred. • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to build positive relationships with customers, potential customers, vendors, and co-workers. • Experience in environment that had long sales cycles and complex products is a plus, but not required. • Strong written and oral communication skills. • Experience utilizing an ERP system preferred. • Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% if needed. Typical travel is approximately 25% and mainly domestic. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
