An Associate Software Engineer at Confluence creates software applications, prototypes, and other technical artifacts for use by customers, other engineers and non-technical team members. This person spends their time doing hands on coding under the guidance of more senior developers. Initially, the Associate Software Engineer works on small subsets of the technology stack expanding into other areas as skills develop.
What Will You Do?
Work with software engineers, QA, and tech writers to build high quality software that delivers great value to our Clients.
Use software industry best practices and tools to code, test, debug, optimize and release software products.
Work on a cross-functional Scrum team participating in planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and demos.
Take responsibility for timely completion of software tasks identifying when problems are encountered.
Seek constant improvement of yourself, our products, our software engineering process, and our teams.
What Technical Skills Do You Need?
We are seeking recent graduates or those with less than two years of experience. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Science.
These basic skills are needed:
Experience developing applications using with C# or Java.
Understanding of OOP concepts and experience with SOA (Service-oriented architecture).
Experience with relational databases.
Familiarity with software development best practices such as unit testing, code reviews and continuous integration.
Familiarity with Scrum or other agile methodologies.
A successful team member has a willingness to be mentored and actively develop technical and behavioral skills. We require individuals with a great sense of commitment in doing the job right the first time.
