The Technical Accounting Manager is responsible for researching and concluding on complex accounting issues, providing technical support to accounting, and serving as a valued business partner to finance and operational teams.
The Technical Accounting Manager is also responsible for updating, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with the Company’s corporate accounting policies.
Perform technical accounting research and write white papers on complex accounting transactions.
Analyze contractual agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment (such as identification and evaluation of embedded derivatives, consolidation accounting evaluations, etc.)
Coordinate with third party valuation experts for asset valuations and impairment tests; evaluate and challenge results of such exercises to ensure appropriate conclusions
Collaborate with other groups and departments, including finance, investor relations, legal and operations, when assessing technical accounting topics or transactions
Research and understand new accounting pronouncements and their impact; assist in implementation of new accounting standards such as revenue recognition and leases
Ensure adherence to SOX compliance and liaise with internal and external auditors
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related area and current CPA required
7+ years of accounting experience
Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley, with prior significant experience with public companies
Strong ability to research, understand, translate and document technical accounting issues
Excellent work ethic and ability to multi-task
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
