Responsible for CdZnTe detector R&D and design, encompassing matching materials, electronics, hybridization, and systems integration to meet customer needs. Assist in the gathering, understanding, and translating application needs of key spectroscopic and imaging products customers to appropriately apply corresponding technologies and solutions. Ensure that detector characteristics are fit for purpose through the application and development of appropriate modeling and characterization capabilities.
Knowledge/Skills – Special Abilities:
Possess excellent theoretical and practical understanding of how material characteristics, electronic signal chain, and system design (collimation, detector pixilation, etc.) affect photon counting, energy sensitive detector performance. Experience with CdTe or CdZnTe radiation detectors desirable.
Demonstrate ability to develop and apply models of the entire detector chain from detector photon interactions to final digital data streams. Experience with Geant4 simulation tools or equivalent desirable.
Possess knowledge and working experience with ASIC electronics and Depth-of-Interaction (DOI) correction for semiconductor radiation detectors.
Design and build advanced test setups, instrumentation, and test software. Operate, trouble shoot, and improve custom test equipment.
Apply outstanding analytical skills to investigate and solve complex problems and to introduce new technologies in condensed time frames.
Demonstrate good organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple contemporary activities.

Customer interaction for requirements capture and project planning.
Provide timely response to technical requests and questions from customers include establishing rapport with customer’s technical leads.
Develop technical application notes, white papers, and presentations for external communication
