Carnegie Museum of Art seeks a full-time Publications and Marketing Assistant. Position performs regular administrative duties for both the Publications and Marketing departments, including processing invoices, maintaining accurate budget information, archiving files, and establishing schedules. For the Publications department, assists in the editing, proofing, and production of gallery graphics and other museum publications. Maintains book inventory and processes sales and distribution. Assists with Rights and Reproductions fulfillment as requested. For the Marketing department, maintains advertising database and schedules ads with media outlets. Manages a database of advertising opportunities. Assists with generating content for and updating the museum’s website and social media platforms, as well as drafting copy for ads and email communications.
Individual must be highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated. Good oral and written communication skills are essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel, is mandatory. S/he must be able to operate basic office equipment such as personal computer, fax, copier, scanner, ink-jet and laser printers. A basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and website content management systems (such as WordPress) is highly desired.
A bachelor’s degree with at least two years of administrative experience is required. Experience in a non-profit setting is desirable; some experience copyediting and proofreading or design is preferred. An interest in art, art history, and museums desirable.
The following PA Act 153 clearances, or proof of application of clearances, are required beginning employment and as a condition of continued employment:

• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
• FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
