A growing spin-off from a global leader in high-pressure equipment and process engineering has an immediate need for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a team that is rapidly expanding its core technologies into new energy applications. The company specializes in the design, development and commercialization of novel, green processes that improve energy efficiency and make alternative forms of energy cost effective.
This position is Design with emphasis on Manufacturing. The capability to do Analysis is a plus.
Job responsibilities include:
Design, analyze and test heat exchangers, pressure vessels, power generation skids and other mechanical systems.
Produce new designs and analyze new and existing designs.
Follow product during manufacturing phase
Design experiments and test rigs for new systems, equipment and components.
Manage outside projects and conduct project reporting.
Work with vendors and project partners.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a design environment.
Experience in new product development that includes weld fabrication, machining, and assembly
2D and 3D solid modeling experience such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
Experience developing and generating project and component documentation including equipment drawings, process flow diagrams, bill of materials, project schedules and component and system manuals.
Preferred characteristics include:
Knowledge and hands-on experience with heat exchange systems
Heavy industry experience such as power generation, steel mill, chemical plant etc.
Working experience with Design for Manufacturing & Design for Assembly
The ability to perform heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and stress analysis
Working knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques
Metallurgical knowledge of high strength/high temperature materials
