The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join Dr. Edwin Wan’s research group in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Cell Biology. The team uses animal models and clinical specimens to elucidate the role of cytokine signaling in autoimmune diseases, with recent focus on neuro-inflammation (for example, see Wan et al., Immunity 38:514-27 (2013); Wan et al., NatCommun 6:7988 (2015); Wan et al., PNAS 112: 9394-9 (2015); Wan et al., J Immunol 196:543-6 (2016)).
The incumbent will work in an interactive and collaborative environment, and will receive excellent training and mentorship to prepare for the next step of his/her career.
Motivated candidates with a Ph.D. degree in immunology, cell and molecular biology, or related science field within the past 5 years, and with broad interest in studying signaling pathways underlying the pathogenesis of autoimmune and/or infectious diseases are encouraged to apply. Experience working with mouse models are required; experience in flow cytometric analysis and/or in various microscopic techniques are preferred.
