SUMMARY We are working with a US manufacturer of specialty products and equipment for the transportation industry to identify a Program Manager. Known for its technology and innovation, this company has emerged as a global leader of locomotive parts and equipment, and now exports to 80 countries throughout the world. Located in Western Pennsylvania, our confidential client is a privately held, 100 year strong operation that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Reporting to the Director of Projects, the Program Manager is responsible for overall technical application, design, construction, implementation of assigned projects as well as the management of customer communication, scheduling project oversight and all project related activities. The ideal candidate will have a highly technical eye, proven problem analysis and resolution skills, and stellar communication skills. He or she will also have a dynamic and persuasive personality, and an innovative spirit.
POSITION Responsible for overall technical application, design, construction, implementation of assigned projects as well as the management of customer communication, scheduling project oversight, and all project related activities: • Monitor project schedules and flow. • Manage and assist in the attainment of project goals. • Maintain a conscientious teamwork attitude to achieve manufacturing and company objectives. • Facilitate continuous improvement and initiatives. • Establish, schedule, prioritize, and control project activities and objectives. • Initiate and maintain communication with customers. • Provide timely/accurate financial projections and pertinent communication to finance.
REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field and/or equivalent experience. • Project management experience in a Manufacturing setting required; Heavy equipment, mining, or transportation preferred. • Five years of project management experience of multi-million dollar contracts required. • Certified Project Manager preferred. • Experience writing and interpreting technical specifications and requirements. • Experience utilizing Primavera or Microsoft Project Software strongly desired. • Experience using work procedure management systems (ERP/MRP systems). • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
