POSITION TITLE: SR. BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST
DEPARTMENT: BISD-IM-PORTFOLIO COMPLIANCE
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent experience required
Minimum five to ten year business or systems analysis experience required, and/or data analysis experience or relevant Federated experience required.
Three or more years of experience with either mutual funds, securities, financial accounting and/or Investment Management industry knowledge preferred.
Experience working with relational databases; writing Structured Query Language (SQL) required
Experience working with MS Windows based applications required, advanced MS Excel skills preferred.
Experienced with application support is required. Experienced with serving the role of the lead business analyst on an application upgrade project preferred.
Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle process preferred
Serve as the lead business analyst on a significant effort to upgrade a critical application used by our business partners in Compliance.
Work collaboratively with the business unit (Compliance / Investment Management Administration) to define business requirements and provide consultative support as needed for applications and business work flows.
Evaluate business needs, recommending best fit solutions such as purchasing third-party software, integrating multiple software applications or repairing current applications.
Initiate and coordinate communication with Information Technology group and business staff and management as required to facilitate the most effective and efficient solution to a problem.
Work with technical and development staff to conduct unit, system, and user acceptance testing. This includes developing and publishing test specifications, preparing test data, and creating user acceptance testing documents.
Prepare business and functional requirements documents and all other required documentation as outlined in Federated's Software Development Lifecycle Process.
Provide hands-on support and training, as needed, to business users.
