An established energy company, located south of Morgantown, WV, is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting.
Will report to the Director of Financial Reporting, and will supervise a couple Accountants.
Responsible for managing a variety of reporting duties, including management (internal) reporting and regulatory (external) reporting.
Manage and actively participate in the corporate financial reporting function.
Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
Assist in the coordination and preparation and submission of SEC filings in a timely manner including: Periodic reports (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K), Public offerings (Form S-3, supplements and amendments), XBRL taxonomy and tagging, and Pro forma financial statements.
Assist in establishing and maintaining internal and operational controls necessary to monitor performance and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley 404.
Document Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for Financial Reporting process.
Coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audit of the company’s financial statements with external auditors.
Prepare, gather and maintain all supporting documentation for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and related notes.
Assist with the preparation of all materials necessary to facilitate quarterly reviews and annual audit, including analysis of periodic financial statements.
Prepare journal entries that support the consolidation of financial results of the company and its wholly owned subsidiaries.
Assist in researching and resolving SEC reporting and general accounting issues.
Assist in the preparation for debt/equity transactions, including the requisite registrations.
Continuous review and monitoring of competitors’ filings to ensure our disclosures are in line with our peer group.
Review and comment on financial-related press releases and support communications with the Disclosure Committee and periodic reporting to the Audit Committee.
Interpret and assist in the implementation of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and monitor compliance with SEC financial reporting rules and regulations.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA required with 5+ years accounting experience, including SEC reporting
Extensive knowledge and application of US GAAP and federal securities rules and regulations
Oil and gas industry experience preferred
Sarbanes-Oxley compliance a plus
Must have strong MS Office skills
Strong presentation and project management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-oriented function
