The HRIS Systems Manager manages a team of HRIS professionals. The incumbent should have familiarity working within or closely with a Human Resources department. The successful candidate will have working functional and technical knowledge of the PeopleSoft platform, enabling them to comfortably navigate within the application, perform basic tasks, and engage with the team and stakeholders to make informed procedural and system-related decisions.
Oversees all HR systems (including PeopleSoft, LawCruit, viDesktop, and Enwisen) design, security, information flow, delivery, tracking, compliance and administration.
Leads the efforts on global implementations of HRIS, Payroll and Human Resource software applications and solutions.
Leads the effort on HR system implementations and upgrades for PeopleSoft, self-service, etc.
Manages the system testing, data conversion and implementation of new/upgraded systems and processes.
Conducts business analyses of current HR systems and processes to identify gaps.
Consults with internal customers to determine needs and requirements and develops solutions for delivery service improvements.
Utilizes business analyses and recommends process design and requirements for new or enhanced systems that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes with success measured by internal client satisfaction.
Partners with IT, Finance and related vendors for HR systems.
Identifies end user training needs and develops the necessary technical training programs to meet those needs.
Serves as a liaison between functional business owners and technical teams to translate business requirements and HR systems interdependencies.
Designs and delivers reports for HR Metrics.
Manages project plans, status updates and other internal communications in cooperation with IT’s program management office.
Ensure the streamlined operations of the team.
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Set performance objectives for team members; develop and deliver performance assessments against these objectives.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the team.
Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and take the appropriate steps for requesting them.
Work with other department managers as resources are required from within their teams.
Define project scopes, goals and deliverables that support firm goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve the goals of assigned projects and initiatives.
Oversee and monitor assigned projects in firm tracking system.
Draft and submit budget recommendations. Track actual performance against budget for responsible areas, technologies and projects.
Build, develop, and grow any firm and business relationships vital to the success of projects and initiatives.
Negotiate contracts with software and service providers.
Liaise with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
Review and analyze existing applications’ effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Coordinate feasibility studies and develop the associated business cases for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional and end-user requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
Install, configure, and deploy new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Basic working functional and technical knowledge of the PeopleSoft platform required.
5 plus years of focused PeopleSoft functional and/or technical experience preferred.
5 plus years of personnel management experience preferred.
10 plus years of progressive HR, Business and/or IT experience required.
5 plus years of experience in a multi-site environment with international offices preferred.
5 plus years of progressive business experience; managing technology budgets and vendor relationships preferred.
5 plus years demonstrated success in HRIS software upgrades, configuration and HR process improvement preferred.
Proven project manager skills in large scale enterprise technical deployments.
Very strong customer service orientation required.
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices required.
Strong organizational skills required.
Working technical knowledge of database principles required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent listening, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Highly self-motivated and directed.
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Technical and/or business/project management certifications a plus.
