The Appeals Specialist will effectively analyze, resolve and track payer denials. This position provides support to both the Prior Authorization and Billing teams in addition to the HCP & Contracting Manager. The Coordinator will assist in identifying areas for continued process improvements that will further decrease new denials and write offs. This position may be field based.
Provide expert knowledge of Medicare and other third party payer criteria
Understand Tobii Dynavox order management processes and policies
Analyze and research cases, applying critical thinking, independent judgment, and business sense to resolve and prevent denials.
Prepare written responses to payer denials
Represent Tobii Dynavox through second level appeals and Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) hearings
Track and communicate payer trends and reimbursement changes
Display an outward commitment to departmental revenue goals
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years equivalent experience
3 years third party payer experience
Knowledge of DME Billing and Prior Authorizations
Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
Demonstrated ability to communicate with clinical and reimbursement specialists
Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization
