The Business Intelligence Data Architect will design and develop enterprise data warehouse, data mart, operational and other miscellaneous components required for BI applications using stored procedures, functions, views, and other ETL Tools as appropriate. Provide analytical support and assist in the development of performance metrics for new projects and initiatives.
Participates in the definition, development and implementation of data warehouse and data mart databases and their content
Implement and support ETL processes and practices in a high availability VLDB data warehousing and data mart environments
Plan and coordinate ETL and database changes with project team members, development and database engineers
Design, develop, test, optimize and deploy ETL solutions which may consist of batch load packages, workflow processes, stored procedures, related functions and various scripting tasks
Work with the Infrastructure team to help develop and uphold data governance policies and procedures to ensure standardized data naming, establish consistent data definitions and monitor overall data quality for assigned data entities
Develop and support creation and management of KPI / analytical reporting solutions
Gather and document business requirements for new sources of data and data warehouse enhancements. Translate requirements, source mapping documents and models into solutions.
Extensive hands-on experience with designing, developing, and ongoing support of data warehouse environments
Experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Microsoft SSIS/DTS, Data Stage
Hands-on report development experience with Cognos and/or Spotfire
Understanding of Kimball dimensional modeling, OLTP and OLAP database designs and implementation strategies.
Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of database concepts
Understanding of logistics, warehouse operations, terms and concepts a plus.
Ability to analyze large amounts of raw data and summarize into clear, accurate, meaningful, value-added reports and analysis
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.
