The Senior Business Analyst - BI is responsible for developing and implementing BI solutions that drive direct benefit to the business. This role will work with additional BI resources and Business partners to understand business need, develop requirements, build test plans and serve as a liaison with the business. The right candidate will have a strong analytical background that will assist in building custom BI Dashboards and Reports and have experience with MicroStrategy as well as various SDLC methodologies. Finally, this role will need to be highly skilled in communication and collaboration working within a team environment to ensure overall success.
Assist with the development of the BI roadmap and BI Solutions
Partner with Business to understand needs and information required from the BI environment
Develop and Review Business Requirement Docs (BRD) with partners and IT resources to ensure understanding and alignment on needs
Oversee ongoing development to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of requirements to stakeholders
Collect and analyze data, identify trends, provide proactive insights and make actionable recommendations
Drive adoption of BI Tools through training, documentation and engaging users to understand needs
Develop and deliver Project documentation as required
Query, analyze and profile data from source to target to assess data integrity and identify gaps in the data to adequately and accurately meet reporting analytics needs
Test planning, scenario development, execution and system/data validation
Working with multiple teams, perform Unit, Integration and Performance testing as needed on release cycles
7+ Years working in a Professional IT Organization
5+ Years of experience in collecting Business Requirements and proven solution delivery
5+ Years of experience designing, building and implementing Enterprise BI solutions
3+ Years working with and supporting a MicroStrategy environment
Retail Industry experience is highly preferred
Strong relational database knowledge, SQL skills and Excel proficiency
Extensive analytical skills with the ability to understand key business processes and related issues.
Strong Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) skills.
Ability to develop successful relationships with external and internal partners.
Strong communication (written, verbal) and facilitation skills
