The Assembly Manager is responsible for overall performance of the Assembly Department. This includes, but is not limited to, the mechanical, electrical, and fabrication areas.

Key Job Elements:
Develop and manage department budget.
Communicate and implement company policies, procedures and objectives.
Evaluate and plan assembly activities for all new incoming jobs.
Manage staff and deploy across a 2-shift operation.
Monitor, adapt, and direct activities to accomplish project requirements.
Maintain project schedule, report weekly at production meeting.
Evaluate and ensure safe working environment and working practices.
Develop and maintain continuous improvement programs like Kaizen and 5-S.
Recommend and implement improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Establish and maintain regular maintenance policies for equipment and facility.
Assess employee performance, provide frequent constructive feedback to employees, and conduct performance reviews. Implement corrective and disciplinary action as warranted.
Evaluate and recommend staff changes.
Measure and manage productivity and the allocation of resources, including the control of overtime.
Communicate effectively with other departments.
5 years related experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in business or a technical field.
Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Strong leadership skills with successful history of setting goals and leading a diverse team.
Strong analytical skills for planning, forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
Able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to stressful and/or changing situations.
Highly organized, self motivated and able to work independently.
Experience managing an assembly operation for a low volume, high diversity manufacturer.
