The Accounting Manager is a key role within the accounting department and works closely with all members of each accounting team to ensure the accounting records for each project are accurate and complete. The position reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for supporting all functions of the accounting and finance department. The Accounting Manager is expected to have strong communication and accounting skills as well as the willingness to work closely with all members of the organization.
Supervise the preparation, interpretation and analysis of financial statements for internal and external reporting
Supervise the preparation, interpretation and analysis of all Project Cost and Project Progress reports to ensure completion and accuracy of all information
Supervise accounting of all accounts receivable and contracts
Supervise accounting for fixed assets
Supervise accounts payable
Support all project management teams and associated functions
Maintain effective relationship and rapport with all external clients, joint venture partners and internal partners
Coordinate the annual construction prequalification process with various authorities
B.S. in Accounting / Finance
Certified Public Accountant License
5+ years of experience as an Accountant in the Heavy Civil Construction Industry
Experience with consolidations of multiple legal entities, including elimination entries
Experience with foreign currency exposures
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Experience with accounting systems such as JD Edwards
Ability to travel less than 20%

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the supervision of the following functions:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, reporting tools related to databases. Must have the ability to learn Accounting and Electronic Content Management software programs.
