SUMMARY We are working with a manufacturer of highly customized specialty products to identify a contract Manufacturing Design Engineer. Known for high volume and quick turnaround, our confidential client produces and ships product to over 100 countries across the globe. Located in the New Kensington area, this company offers a highly dynamic environment and emerging culture.
The Manufacturing Design Engineer will be responsible for developing, designing, and fabricating fixtures to support all Production departments.
This assignment will last approximately 6 months, give or take, and offers an hourly compensation of $30-$35 depending on skills and experience.
Works alongside Process Engineering to understand manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency by evaluating equipment, system, and process needs and options in regards to product fixtures.
Work with Supervisors, Coordinators, and Operators to identify and correct existing fixture issues.
Develop strategies for creating new fixtures; design and fabrication utilizing 3D printer.
Work directly with machining vendor to build new and replacement fixtures when 3D printing is not an option.
Design standardized nesting system.
Design 5S storage plan.
Organize and maintain the fixture database and library for all Production departments.

BS in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering required.
3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
Experience in machine and process automation design.
Experience in fixture and tooling design and fabrication.
Full proficiency in AutoCAD, Solidworks, and 3D printing.
