Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst. This position will be located in the either the Washington DC office, San Francisco office or the Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV.
The Financial Analyst will prepare financial and operational reports of the firm, practice groups, function groups, and offices. This includes monthly and quarterly financial information. Compile and enter quarterly forecast and annual budget data.
Responsibilities: • Input annual budget information for all derived and dependent expenses, the capital budget, compensation and benefits. • Work with other analysts and managers to support various practice groups providing profitability analysis, expense reporting, utilization analysis and other day-to-day requests. • Support managers with data input and review for quarterly and annual surveys. • Prepare and distribute monthly business and professional development reports. Prepare monthly management reports containing statistics on income and expenses, utilization, collections, and inventory, for specified offices. Prepare quarterly metric reports for specified offices, including days in cash cycle, ratios, attorney hours, and other statistics. Prepare quarterly office and practice group metrics reports. • Develop and revise templates, as necessary. • Prepare ad hoc reports as requested. Perform special analyses using Excel and MS Access. • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications: • 1-3 years of relevant experience. • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field is desirable. • Experience in mid- to large-sized professional service firms are desired. • Experience with both financial systems and applications (Excel). • Effective oral and written communication skills are required. • Must also be a self-starter and have a high level of initiative and drive.
