Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. This position will be located in the either the Washington DC office, San Francisco office or the Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV.
The Financial Analysis Manager develops, analyzes, and evaluates financial plans and forecasts and communicates to firm management recommended courses of action in order to achieve the organization's financial goals. Through the preparation of financial commentaries, he/she identifies key issues and trends in the firm’s actual results as well as opportunities for improving the financial performance of the firm.
Responsibilities: • Provides actionable, ongoing financial analysis of key issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement of the firm’s financial performance. • Prepares the monthly financial commentary and supervises the preparation of the monthly financial package, ensuring the integrity of both. • Assists with the annual capital spending process and periodic forecasting process, as well as supporting the revenue and expense planning process. • Provides financial analysis and accounting support to the firm’s domestic and international offices. • Performs profitability analyses and other ad hoc financial analyses to provide financial and strategic support to the firm’s management. • Supports the firm’s expense control initiatives, including the design and development of effective ways to control costs, with particular emphasis on the firm’s domestic and international offices. This includes the analysis of monthly expense variances for the offices and the development of plans to address the variances. • Manages the financial analyst that reports to him/her. • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications: • MBA with an emphasis in finance. • Five or more years of relevant experience. • Experience in mid- to large-sized professional service firms is desired. • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills are required. • Experience with both financial systems and applications (Excel) is required. • Must be a self-starter and have a high level of initiative and drive is required.
