IV Clinical Support Specialist – Pharmacy Technician

This exciting career opportunity offers you the chance to travel to hospitals throughout the United States.
The IV Clinical Support Specialist will provide site coverage, perform employee and customer training, coaching, and support for Omnicell IV Automation products. The IV Clinical Support Specialist works collaboratively with Program Management, Project Managers and Engineers as well as hospital project team members, to ensure customer’s productive use of the IV automation products. Provide instruction and consultation regarding standard operating procedures, best practices and problem resolution for Omnicell IV automation products.
Provide guidance and instruction regarding overall IV workflow for compounding including production schedules, staffing, documentation, and beyond use dating (BUD) sterility release testing.
Provide competency training and validation for employees and hospital personnel as necessary.
Recommend drugs to be added to Omnicell IV automation products based on data usage, demand, and workflow.
Instruct staff regarding performance of environmental monitoring activities for the IV Automation products.
Maintain a high level of communication with the project team concerning all levels of client interaction.
Complete special projects, reports and status updates on a regular basis for program management and project team as necessary.
Assist program management, Project Managers and Engineers with client implementation and go-live as needed.
Promote and optimize client product ownership, satisfaction and clinical integration through support of:
Subject Matter Expert education methodology.
Customer accountability for data integrity and product use procedures.
Hospital-initiated check of product operation.
First-line product support and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with internal Omnicell departments such as Training and Documentation, Product Management, Customer Support and Technical Account Management to provide input in developing mutually viable solutions for the Omnicell IV products.
Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
Participates in planning processes by establishing personal goals to support quality improvement.
Provide temporary coverage for IV automation customers as needed.
Comply with reasonable procedures, policies and guidelines established by the customer facility.
Maintain fiscal responsibility for business related expenses associated with Company-issued credit card.
Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines.
Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques.
Working knowledge of Aseptic Work Practices, and Cleaning/Disinfection Procedures.
Working knowledge of adult learning techniques.
Demonstrated organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Ability to work with mechanical equipment.
Knowledge of pharmacy automation preferred.
Working knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft Windows, Excel and PowerPoint.
High school diploma or GED
Up to two years of experience with I.V. preparations.
Previous experience in hospital pharmacy or healthcare industry.
Three plus years of experience with I.V. preparations.
Prior experience as a project/implementation contributor/team member.
IV clean room environment.
Potential exposure to hazardous substances.
Capable of standing for several hours at a time.
Able to lift 25 – 30 lbs.
Position offers approximately 80% travel, or as required.
Selected candidates may be required to pass a math aptitude test.
