Position responsibilities include: - Develop applications to support sales of instruments to customers. - Provide technical support for existing analyzers. - Plan new applications oriented analyzers by working with sales, customers, marketing, system design and development engineers by providing information and assistance during design phase. - Perfect new analytical techniques to support business needs. - Develop Mass Spectrometer based applications in house and catalog these (digital and hard-copy) for future method reference. - Provide technical expertise to influence strategy for product planning and product development. - Manage Obsolescence and Analyzer Update Program - Performs additional duties as required.
M.S. or Ph.D. degree in chemistry/physics/E.E., ChemE. - Five-ten years of experience developing mass spectrometer applications. - A thorough understanding of data processing techniques as they relate to Mass Spectrometers. Techniques must include chemometrics and other calibration modeling techniques and data interpretation. - Experience with Mass Spectrometry and multichannel techniques. - Willing to travel minimum 30% and possess a valid passport. - Working knowledge of tunable diode laser, near infrared, infrared and UV-Vis based analyzers. - Experience in design and development of mass spectrometers - Process monitoring environment experience - International travel - Demonstrated ability in creating methods for standard process Mass Spectrometer application (i.e., Ammonia Process, Hydrogen Process, Ethylene Process, Ambient Air Monitoring, Steel Processes, LNG, BTU in Fuel/Flare Gas). - Demonstrated ability to work with a sales organization and customers to develop new applications for existing or modified products or technology. - Must be proactive to disseminate information in a timely manner to all individuals involved in sales and market development processes. - Commitment to successful completion of projects. - Ability to access multiple information sources to determine product definitions including sales, marketing, distributors, customers, competitive information, etc. - Capable of effective interaction with customers and marketing staff to ensure the viability of applications specific systems.
