The Systems Engineer is responsible for participating in a broad range of activities, including but not limited to the implementation, migration and maintenance of systems across the organization. Supports and delivers new technology solutions in a Microsoft environment, and oversees the worked performed by a networking and server infrastructure managed service provider. This position requires participation and contribution to various initiatives including Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, messaging, file services, web services, virtualization, and systems/application migrations. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Responsible for administering an Active Directory (AD) infrastructure in a mixed Windows environment, and leading migration efforts to Azure Active Directory
Responsible for administering a Microsoft Exchange environment, and leading migration efforts to Office 365 business class messaging services
Direct and manage projects performed by a network and server infrastructure managed services provider, while ensuring services performed meet the Service Level Agreement.
Direct and manage work performed by a SharePoint Administrator
Direct and manage work performed by a Desktop Systems Administrator
Responsible for supporting, patching, and upgrading several applications including a financial system, Great Plains, and legacy systems.
Responsible for the effective and efficient operation and interconnectivity of systems and will lead efforts to integrate and/or develop interfaces with applications when required
Provide senior level knowledge and support to users including infrastructure,design, implementation, troubleshooting, and support
Oversee technical reviews and product research services, concepts, and ideas as directed.
Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure products and services
Maintain system security by performing audits and adhering to industry best practices
Will lead or participate as a member in projects, contribute to policies, procedures and standards a cross the organization.
Design and implement technology solutions that enable the business.
Lead and collaborate with team members for problem resolution.
Automate and standardize processes for system administration.
Monitor system availability, performance and capacity, and take proactive steps to ensure the Service Level Agreements and highest levels are met.
Identify potential security vulnerabilities, bug fixes and status of affected versions of software, applying updates as needed.
Work with team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements, systems goals, ensure reliable operation of software and systems, as well as identify and resolve business objectives, leveraging technology.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configurations, networks, and processes.
Capable of multi-tasking multiple projects and determining task priority
Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and services
Ability to apply consultative skills to assess user needs and provide appropriate support
Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by Senior Technology Director
Bachelor of Science degree related field
7 to 9 years of technical work experience in a related role
5+ years administrating Active Directory (AD) and Windows Server environments, including OS installation, ADUC, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Group Policy, File Sharing, NTFS permissions
5+ years administrating a Microsoft Exchange environment, including installation, migration, Storage Databases, MX Records, SPAM Filtering, Email Routing, Distribution Groups
3+ years administering Microsoft SQL 2008, 2012, 2016 environments, including installation
3+ years integrating applications and implementing data exchanges and conversions
3+ years migrating systems to private datacenters and to the Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google, etc) using public cloud tools
Some knowledge of Scripting Languages relating to servers/networks (VBS, PowerShell, Batch)
Some knowledge of Office Productivity Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Visio, etc)
