Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Sales Director/Business Development Director will be responsible for achieving assigned revenue goals and plans. The successful candidate must be creative and flexible. They must have the capacity to act as a business owner with respect to their assigned accounts, partners, and territory. They must have the skill and intellect to engage constructively with other highly driven Voci employees in multiple functions to further the company’s interests. As a senior level position, the successful candidate will be required to think and act on behalf of Voci’s interests first, including when required actions are not explicitly compensated in their commission structure.
This position has an elevated expectation of sales strategy ownership and execution than a Sales Executive. The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively with the CRO and all other members of the sales team to build and execute company sales strategy.
Develop and implement sales and business development strategies and tactics for Voci’s speech recognition solutions to achieve sales, customer acquisition and market share objectives;
Identify, contact, qualify, develop and win key strategic accounts in accordance with the company’s sales strategies. Act as a partner & strategist with others in the sales organization;
Lead negotiations with key, strategic end user accounts – bringing in partners to provide a total solution and supporting partners in their discussions and negotiations with end users as needed;
Develop and foster productive relationships with key senior-level end user customers, influencers, and partners;
Identify and develop new reseller partners as appropriate in support of sales, customer acquisition and market share objectives;
Provide input into marketing plans and programs and contribute to the formulation and implementation of internal and external marketing communications to support sales, customer acquisition and market share objectives;
Provide timely and accurate management information related to forecasts, market intelligence and industry trends;
Continuously maintain information on sales opportunities usable for pipeline reporting and forecasting with discrete key deal visibility.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher, engineering degree preferred;
Minimum 10 years technology sales experience including at least 3 years in a sales leadership role;
Proven record of success;
Start-up company experience in a fast-paced dynamic environment;
Knowledge of speech, data analytics, and/or call center buying behaviors highly desirable;
Experience with software and related sales models a plus;
Demonstrable knowledge of CRM systems and other sales and marketing tools.

Effective tactical sales skills, able to lead the process from initial stages to closure;
