We are working with a longtime client to identify a Tool Room Supervisor. This position is open because the current supervisor is retiring. POSITION Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Safely and efficiently manage operation of the Tool and Die Room. • Supervise all departmental personnel; responsible for knowing and enforcing company rules, regulations and policies. • Responsible for the training and performance evaluation of all die shop personnel. • Implement departmental practices and procedures as recommended and authorized. • Responsible for production and repair of dies and tooling needed by production departments. • Responsible for requisition of department supplies and equipment for the efficient functioning of the Machine Shop. • Estimate costs of tooling. • Analyze die shop labor requirements and recommend changes to the Plant Manager. • Outsource tool and die work to third party vendors when needed. • Perform random but routine audits. • Review and report equipment issues; work with Maintenance Supervisor as needed. • Attend Production staff meetings, and report and discuss any concerns or potential issues with Management team. • Responsible for the Tool & Die Shop calibration program. • Provide technical support and assistance to tool and die facilities at other company locations when needed.
REQUIREMENTS • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Machine Shop or Tool Room. • Minimum 2 years of experience as a team lead or supervisor; union experience a plus. • Experience with CNC lathes and mills required; set up, calibration, maintenance. • CAD and CAM programming required; Esprit and BobCAD preferred. • Experience with measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers. • Experience in Tool and Die repair. • Must be fully able to analyze and work from blueprints and customer drawings. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
