SUMMARY International manufacturer needs to add a process oriented payroll specialist to the team. This person will work in the Warrendale corporate office and process payroll for multiple U. S. locations. This is a full time position with an on average 45 hour work week (Monday-Friday).
POSITION • Multiple payrolls and payroll related taxes and benefits – hourly and salary for all U.S. locations. • Processing payrolls error free and on time according to payroll schedule with the outside payroll service provider. • Verify accuracy of time / attendance reports; post information on payroll system weekly for hourly and as required for salaried employees. • Verify overtime pay for salaried non-exempt employees. • Verify and calculate pay rate changes and retro pay. • Gather, calculate, report PTO to locations within a time and attendance system. • Distribute live checks to employees, including making sure all off shift employees receive timely checks. • Run / review audit reports prior to payroll transmittal. • Review interact transactions from HR system (Oracle). • Review payroll prior to processing through trial payroll. • Gather plant wide bonus qualified wages information monthly for all U.S. locations and coordinate with team leader and location specific personnel. • Gather employee stock purchase worksheets for all participants and coordinate with team leader. • Provide necessary reports / requests for 401K plan, employee stock purchase plan, bonus incentive plan, computer purchase plan, and other misc. areas. • Accumulate necessary W-2 adjustments for year-end payroll processing, including: Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Taxable Moving Expenses, Deferred Compensation, and necessary wage / tax adjustments. • Payroll related journal entries / reconciliations. • Calculation of applicable payroll taxes for all stock based compensation. • 401K: compare weekly principal activity reports to the payroll module to verify updates have been made prior to processing payroll; track highly compensated employees to ensure no excessive match occurs; review new hires for auto enroll validation. • Other duties will include maintaining deductions, track new enrollments, and prepare enrollment to purchase ESPP stock; prepare overtime report monthly; and reply promptly to employees’ payroll related questions and requests.
REQUIREMENTS • Bookkeeping / Accounting post high school education preferred. • Minimum of 4 years of experience in payroll accounting, processing high volume payroll transactions in a fast paced environment. • General accounting experience. • Microsoft Office proficiency. • Familiarity with automated accounting systems, such as SAP, preferred. • Familiarity with Oracle HRIS preferred. • Experience with variable compensation programs preferred. • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees. • Highly confidential in nature. • Able to work flexible hours as needed. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
