The University of Pittsburgh's Computing Services and Systems Development (CSSD) Department is pleased to present this opportunity for an Assistant Director of Network Engineering, a high-level and strategic leadership position for the Infrastructure Division.
The Assistant Director will provide strategic leadership, as well as oversee and maintain the operations and livelihood of the University's world-class data and voice network infrastructure by leading a strong team of engineers who perform engineering, operations, and administration of the University enterprise network.
A key component of this role is ensuring a continuously stable infrastructure that services the entire University, including its four regional campuses. In addition to monitoring systems and any alerts and faults generated by the Network Operations Center (NOC), the incumbent will be accountable for leading and directing the Network engineering team in the resolution of any issues in a timely and efficient manner.
This position will be responsible for decisively determining the root cause of any outages or network performance problems and efficiently communicate, lead, and oversee the resolution and documentation of the issue as well as developing proactive processes to trend, measure and report on performance.

The Assistant Director of Network Engineering reports to the Director of Infrastructure and leads a team of engineers that support this 24x7x365 data center.
