We have been asked to identify an Mechanical Design Engineer for this confidential client. The Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to the engineering department by performing design, layout, testing, and evaluation duties for mechanical and electro-mechanical devices and systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of product design, development, and launch experience, as well as, the love of working in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment. POSITION Responsibilities include: • Perform basic design, layout, testing, and evaluation of less complex mechanical and electro-mechanical devices and systems. • Will work with old and new products. • Perform product development activities, including mechanical design for assembly & manufacturing, implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements. • Install, debug, and qualify new processes and equipment sets. • Document technology advances both internally and externally. • Ensure cost, yield and serviceability targets are being met. • Data manipulation and text file editing in a windows software environment. • Conduct engineering studies. • Receives instructions on work and detailed instructions on new assignments. • Directs manufacturing personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electro Mechanical Engineering Degree required. • 5 years of electro-mechanical design and manufacturing experience. • Working knowledge of 3D Modeling & 2D CAD applications: ProE, CREO, Altium; C, C++ and AutoCAD preferred. • Ability to follow written instructions and general manufacturing designs/drawings/diagrams. • Understands engineering processes and procedures and can recognize non-conformance or problems. • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with an emphasis on teamwork, communication and customer satisfaction. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
