All Lines Technology is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator who will provide day-to-day administration support and continuous improvement to the server and storage infrastructure to ensure consistent availability, reliability and accuracy. You will need to have a background in enterprise IT processes such as change control, project management methodologies and IT standards (COBIT, ITIL etc.).
Provides day to day administration of servers and storage, which includes monitoring and tuning, optimization, backup and recovery, space management and capacity planning, system migrations, resolving errors and failures, auditing activities, and resource utilization.
Provide technical assistance to development teams, as appropriate. Solve issues, research technologies, and help develop strategies to improve performance, availability and scalability.
Design and maintain highly available server and storage backend systems in a complex network environment.
Work with infrastructure and development teams to build and support production systems for internal and external applications.
Work with vendors and remote support teams to increase database availability and improve data trend analysis efforts.
Adopt and implement industry best practices for database management.
Secure and protect valuable data from inappropriate access or data loss.
Perform cost/benefit analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal, written, presentations and meetings.
Proven track record and experience with Microsoft, VMware, Cisco and NetApp architectures and administration including: installation, configuration, maintenance, repair, and backups.
Fluency with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, SharePoint, Exchange, SQL, Skype for Business and Office 365.
Knowledge of .NET environment is necessary.
Candidate must possess a broad range of mature competencies – creativity, strategic thinking, initiative, team player, etc.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Industry standard skills in server systems and storage management should include such items as non-invasive patching, upgrades, migrations, etc. as well as exposure to third party management tools for monitoring availability, capacity and usage trending.
High availability and disaster recovery data base planning skills considered a plus.
Strong planning and execution skills.
Storage and Virtualization knowledge required.
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology or related field required, or equivalent experience.
Certification in server operating systems such as VMware, Windows, Linux
Certification in server and storage hardware desired.
7 to 10+ years’ experience in systems administration and/or technical operations.
7+ years’ experience in the cable, telecom, electronics manufacturing and/or security industry
Strong ability to build consensus; ability to influence others
Experience working both independently and, in a team oriented collaborative environment
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
