We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking individual to join our Project Management team located at our Global headquarters in Jefferson Hills, PA. KJLC is a growing global manufacturer and distributor of vacuum technology.
The Manufacturing Planner will coordinate all aspects of a Machine Shop project and will be the sole owner from order placement until the job is shipped. They will work with other departments to ensure that the product meets the customer’s needs and is designed for the most efficient manufacturing methods. They will develop a detailed router for their projects that incorporates the previously established “most efficient” manufacturing methods. This person will need to have a wide degree of latitude to creatively meet goals.
Key Job Elements:
Assist Product Management with the development of new products.
Assist Product Management by generating cost estimates to be used when quoting potential manufacturing projects.
Work with Material Control and Engineering to optimize an effective process of manufacturing a quality product while being conscious of desired completion dates.
Improve cost position and delivery timeline by working with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Key Shop Personnel, and other resources. Also, work with this team to allow for development of new products.
Develop a work plan outlining the sequence of manufacturing steps (Router) and responsible for the initial timeline to ensure the customer’s delivery date can be met.
Ability to read and understand bills of materials.
Meet with Product Management, Deliveries Department, Material Control, Key Shop Personnel, Engineering, and any other resource as required to discuss and understand the entire scope of the project.
Release projects to the shop floor and support the team with problem resolution for unplanned events as they arise utilizing less common manufacturing techniques.
Minimum two years’ hands-on experience in manufacturing including one or more of the following: welding, fabricating, and machining of multiple materials.
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Innovative, self-motivated, and team oriented.
Strong time management abilities and skillful in multitasking.
Fluent in PC based software programs.
Basic CAD software understanding.
Understanding problem resolution, and the ability to recognize when to apply.
Effective communication and people skills
Minimum five years’ or equivalent experience in planning and coordinating manufacturing activities.
Minimum five years’ hands-on experience in manufacturing including one or more of the following: welding, fabricating, and machining of multiple materials.
Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing related field or equivalent working experience.
