SUMMARY We are working with a manufacturer of highly customized specialty products to identify a Warehouse Supervisor. Known for high volume and quick turnaround, our confidential client produces and ships customized specialty products to over 100 countries across the globe. Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a 200,000 square foot warehouse and supervising up to 50 warehouse employees directly involved in the receiving, storing, packing and distribution of products to internal and external customers.
POSITION Responsibilities include: • Monitor department productivity and accuracy. • Manage the day-to-day operations in receiving and picking operations, sample orders, and product returns; focus on accuracy, efficiency, and improvements. • Monitor and improve the inventory control process, location reports, and material flow; liaise between warehouse and production departments. • Monitor proper usage of the warehouse management system; maintain and control the FIFO control. • Improve the integrity of the racking locations. • Orders and maintain sufficient amounts of packing supplies for the warehouse and production. • Works with customer service, customer solutions, and order entry departments on problem orders and issues. • Oversees and improve staff morale through positive example and a solution-oriented approach toward problem solving. • Monitor departmental and individual performance and provide appropriate feedback, encouragement, and discipline when necessary in order to facilitate department improvements and control. • Cross trains employees so they can work in multiple areas. • Provide Human Resources support by involvement in interviewing, hiring, monitoring absenteeism, tardiness, time cards, etc. • Assists with other cross-functional tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
REQUIREMENTS • High School Diploma or GED. • 3 years of experience managing warehouse operations; high volume environment required. • 3 years of supervisory experience. • Experience with Picking and Batch Printing. • Experience in Returns Process. • Proficiency on ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics GP or Great Plains preferred. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
