An established engineering firm, located just south of Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking an Applications Engineer.
Responsible for all aspects of the application of Company products to customers’ processes, including design, calculations, drawings, bills of material, and cost estimating.
Develop expertise in the application of temperature control solutions to industrial manufacturing and related processes.
Help provide conceptual engineering for custom products complete with sizing calculations, equipment, component, and material selection, and cost estimates to comply with client application requirements.
Design and document the mechanical, electrical, and process instrument control of complex heat transfer systems and other products.
Generate detailed design documents, including, calculations, drawings and bills of material for all products.
Generate detailed fabrication instructions (work orders) for all products.
Generate installation, operation, safety & maintenance manuals for all products.
Help automate the estimating process for standard and custom products.
Generate detailed cost estimates for all products.
Review and monitor project progress to assure quality of product, adherence to requirements of the contract, schedule, and cost budget.
Assist with in-house product testing, troubleshooting, operation, and customer training.
Assist our in-house service team as required on technical and process issues regarding installed equipment.
Assist with communicating the technical aspects of our products and projects to our customers.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), and 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
Working knowledge of design, database, and presentation application software including: AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
General competence working with ERP and other software applications.
Knowledge of industrial processes and temperature control solutions. Competence in mechanical and electrical design.
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Good organizational skills in prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and detail-oriented.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (10-20%).
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
